I thought I might be a little blue today considering school started in the school district where I taught for the past four years. I do miss setting up my classroom, new school supplies, and the eager little faces of the year's new kiddos. But, this little face is the reason I'm now a stay-at-home mama and do not have back-to-school blues.
Sienna wanted to get in on the taking pictures action today. She is wearing her new Old Navy jammies.
One of the things we've incorporated into our daily rhythms is a trip to a local flea market every three weeks. We get a coffee for mama & sometimes Nana Sandy, or Daddy and then get in line early to wait for the flea market to open. Last Friday, we were able to share this experience with Grandma Diane and Grandpa Paul. After two hours of waiting patiently, Sienna usually falls asleep in my Ergo and then the doors open! We are usually pretty close to the front of the line and are able to get in the door fast. Big items are a ticket sale (you have to be first to grab the ticket) and smaller items are put into a reusuable grocery bag. The prices are amazing! Here are some of my finds:
I think we paid $6.00 for these. They are heavy, old, made in the U.S.A., and will work perfectly for our wood stove this winter.
This is my new batter bowl. I've been wanting one for Sunday morning pancakes or waffles. No more messes and a great price of $2.00! It also matches our blue kitchen.
I just thought this lamp was so cute and also only $2.00. It is mosaic and works like a night light.

I can't remember the price of the pitcher and bowl, but I love sunflowers and they look so pretty in the window box above the kitchen sink! The salt & pepper shakers also match the kitchen perfectly and were $1.50.

A pair of stained glass lamps for Sienna's one day big girl room. These were a little bit more pricey at $20.00 for the pair, but oh so cute!
A shabby chic hamper for under $5.00. It works great & keeps our clothes off the floor!
This is my new sewing basket ... actually, a knitting basket. It came complete with knitting & crochet needles, knitting patterns, and yarn. All for only $3.50. I have big plans for this one! I'm actually going to paint it yellow and change the fabric in it. I can't wait to start learning how to knit!
The Kitchen Aid mixer was actually a gift from David's mom and I love it! It makes cookies and pizza dough so easy! The food grinder & pasta attachment were only $2.00 each and came still in their boxes, probably never even used. I can't wait to try these out.Well, these are just some of our great finds! As I look around the house, I see many more little things here and there. Oh and I didn't even mention the tools ... a future post, perhaps.
Finally, I leave you with Sienna's new zoo and farm. Nana Sandy and Grandma Diane had fun getting all of these for Sienna at only $0.50 each. Sienna will definitely be learning her animal names and sounds soon.
