Waiting

All week we've been waiting for two very special packages to come. The first package to arrive today was our braided rugs we ordered from LL Bean. We ordered one bigger rug for the main living area and a smaller one for the play area. The second package to arrive was caterpillars we ordered from Carolina. We will be observing the life cycle as part of our homeschool happenings.

(Please excuse the missing baseboards from the photos. That is one of our renovation projects and I still need to paint them, so David can put them up.)

Chicken Soup with Rice and a ... fly?

Today's a chilly day with rain on and off all day.
Sienna and I stayed snuggly warm in our jammies and read her new favorite book.
We even made Daddy some delicious Chicken Soup with Rice.
Too bad I couldn't find this book to read since it's in storage with all of my teaching supplies.

Here are some snapshots of our day ::

A glimpse of Sienna's new favorite book.

When I ask her to point to the butterfly, she says "fly" and points to it. Any guesses of what this book might be?

That's right ... it's a dictionary.
It was actually made for ELL students and was free at a conference I went to last year.

I love how she sits with her little feet together like this!

Some serious dictionary reading happening here.

Sorry this one is so blurry! I just like her expression.

And of course, a picture of the Chicken Soup!
Rice to be added ...

How was your Butterfly Wednesday??

A Butterfly for Breakfast ?

A butterfly spoon, that is.

First, Sienna would like to wish you all a good morning, though!

Hmmm ... now to try eating with a butterfly spoon!
Tricky. Here are a few snapshots ::

Thanks to Grandma Diane & Grandpa Paul for buying the very cute china butterfly spoon in Leavenworth! I'm sure Sienna will find many uses for it ... perhaps, she'll use it for a little tea party.

Now, we are off to some craft stores to get ideas for Christmas gifts and then to do a little grocery shopping. We're going to make Tortilla Soup for Daddy since he will be out in the rain all day working!

Until next time ...
xoxo

Mariposa Wednesday

While looking for pictures to include in Sienna's Baby Book, I stumbled upon these ...

Sienna, at about 9 months with her new car seat, full of butterflies!
Appropriately named the Mariposa.

She was so chubby back then!

And her first trip in the butterfly car seat ... all the way down to California!

Asleep, as we pass the Space Needle in Seattle.

On the way home ...

Butterfly Wednesdays

In celebration of butterflies, every Wednesday will feature Sienna with a butterfly of some sort. I realize this will require a little bit of creativity ... we are up for the challenge!

Sienna and her kitty, Merlin. Sienna is wearing a very cute, handmade butterfly dress from the Farmer's Market in Eugene, Oregon (thank you Grandma Diane & Grandpa Paul).

So sweet ...
