Birthday Wish Lists

I just finished birthday wish lists on Amazon for Sienna and Forest. I decided just to do Amazon, because David reminded me that nobody would know if someone bought a gift from our wish list and Amazon keeps track of that, so there aren't any duplicates. I also started a homeschooling wish list over there, too. If you can't find anything you like on the  birthday wish lists, you can look over at the homeschool one.

Spring Art

Today, we made these Little Robin Redbreasts using my little ones' feet and some tempura paint. I painted the breast, beak and legs on Forest's painting and Sienna painted her own. It was a simple and sweet Spring project, especially since we've been seeing lots of Robins and Blue Jays around, which is a sure sign that Spring is here!

P.S. I've had a few people ask me about birthday gifts and I promise I will make a wish list very soon. I think I'm just going to do it on my blog, instead of Amazon. (so I can add a few things from Etsy, too!) 

Mmmm, Bread & Bath Time!

I will keep today's post short and sweet, since I am very tired. My wee, little boy woke up the family around 4:00 this morning. He is teething and cutting his top left tooth right now. This would be alright, but when we are all sharing a family bed (minus Daddy) it also woke up our wee, big girl, too and she does not take naps anymore! So, this Mama is tired. I did manage to make two loaves of bread this morning and just finished baking them a few moments ago. I thought I'd share them, since I am now using my new glass Pyrex bread pan, which I love. (Thank you to Fairy Grandmother, Casey!) For some odd reason it makes my loaves rise better, maybe because of the glass? I'm not an expert baker, so I have no idea. And, Forest during his Sunday bath! He is just beginning to love splashing and playing with the water. 

9 Months

On Saturday, Forest turned 9 months old. He also had his well baby check-up the day before. His new (naturopath) doctor recommended beefing up his feedings, as I mentioned his "curve" or percentiles seem to be going downward. No, he's not losing; he's just in a lower percentile every time we go.  

Since his appt., I've been offering him food three times a day. However, he is a bit of a reluctant eater and often gags during his feedings. He seems to like (okay) sweet potatoes, carrots, pears, bananas and apples & blueberries mixed. He's thrown up with oat cereal and avocados, which we will (eventually) try again. Hopefully, he will start enjoying food more soon. (besides just Mama's milk)

One of his new things to do is point. We ask him where someone/kitty is and he will point. I've also been trying to get him to point to food he wants to eat. Instead, one time he pointed to my water glass and another time he reached down my shirt for his milky. 

He also waves hello & goodbye, sits up, pulls himself up to stand while holding onto things, walks holding on and stands for a few seconds alone. He also is babbling plenty. 

Just today (for the first time) I found that he eats much better when his food is presented to him in a bowl and he can play in it while I spoon it for him. Before this, I had tried just putting a bit of food on his hand and trying to get him to taste it. Apparently, he is a messy little guy that loves to get his hands dirty! (After he finished, he threw his bowl on the carpet and made an even bigger mess!)

Pizza Night

It's our little family's tradition to have pizza on Friday nights. Sometimes though, if we are too busy on Friday, we will switch it to Saturday. We usually make a big cheese pizza for us all to share. Sometimes, David will put other toppings on half of the pizza and on occasion, we might have two pizzas. 

On our last pizza night, we tried something new. Sienna helped to design her own smallish pizza, just her perfect size. She wanted to try it with mushrooms this time.

So, we had our own pizza all to ourselves. We made an onion, garlic, pepper and bacon pizza. We also added a few of Sienna's leftover mushrooms just for Mama.

And, we topped it off with ... fresh avocado.

Tulip Love!

We finally made it to see the tulips on Sunday. Yes, it was still quite rainy. Maybe even rainier than on Saturday. There weren't too many others though and we liked having the tulips to ourselves. Sienna, especially loved jumping in the puddles and running in the soggy grass.

Soggy Saturday

On this Saturday morning, we headed over to the Skagit Valley to see the tulips. Sienna and I were all ready in our boots. But, it was just pouring too much rain!

We decided to do our weekly shopping instead and try for the tulips again tomorrow. We do a lot of our shopping in town at the Skagit Valley Food Co-op.

After shopping, we went home for some lunch. David also made some pizza dough and pickled eggs. We decided to go thrifting for a bit, so Sienna could try out her new rainbow umbrella.

Celebrating Easter

On the Eve of Easter, Sienna mad a little note for the Easter Bunny. She left him her candy from the egg hunt she went to in town and a carrot.

The Easter Bunny visited! She brought the little ones each a chocolate bunny from See's Candies, some yummy jelly beans made from fruit juice, a small piece of German chocolate, an Ostheimer wooden figure for our barn and a book.

Then, we travelled over to Nana's house for a delicious brunch with her and Great Aunt Sharon and Great Uncle Rick.

The Easter Bunny decided to hide the little ones' eggs at Nana's house, since we are living in an apartment.

After the egg hunt and brunch, we headed over to the park, so Sienna could play for a bit.
