The Little House: A Cozy Bedroom

Today, I bring you the last bit of coziness I will share of the interior in the little house: the bedroom, yes the, as in there is only one! As we are currently still co-sleeping with Sienna and are making some parenting choices based on the "Attachment Parenting" model, which you can read about here, if you are interested in learning more (along with our own blend of ideals, of course), one bedroom is all that is really needed at this point.

Sorry for the delay in getting this last one posted, but Sienna came down with a fever yesterday and we spent the day resting & cuddling while Daddy made us pancakes with homemade blackberry syrup for breakfast and Mama's homemade pizza sauce and dough for dinner. It was his first time preparing the dough and it turned out delicious!

Back to coziness, the first thing I love about the bedroom is all of the shelves. If you know me, then you know that I love to read and that I have way too many books. The bookshelves that surround the bed are almost enough to hold all of my books, but not quite! There is even a little nook of shelves right behind the bedroom door ...

This little nook of shelves is Sienna's closet and Mama has it organized with the top shelf being all of her pajamas & dresses, second shelf being shirts (in the order of: sleeveless, short-sleeved, long-sleeved), third shelf being shorts, pants & sweaters/sweatshirts, and the last shelf holds all of her blankets and a basket of shoes.

Next, we have our sunflower mirror, pine pie cabinet (full of linens), and more of Sienna's things. This cute Ikea shelving unit is great for storing all of her towels, washcloths, tights, and socks. Sienna loves her little bluebird night light on the cabinet. When we moved in we couldn't find any of our night lights (I think they all ended up in storage!) and she picked this one out.

Now, here we have the ultimate cozy spot in the house, our organic cotton bed, which is so comfortable! The quilt was my mom's first one made and recently given to me from my father's mother (the original owner). It looks really pretty in the little house.

Finally, this is a Tibetan Marriage Blessing we bought when we were newlyweds and we framed it. To the right is Sienna's dream catcher that I bought in Minnesota when I first met David.

And that my friends is the conclusion of coziness in the little house. Now, I must be going to tend to my little one. Please send her some blessings of good health. Until next time ...
