This year our little family celebrated Chinese New Year with dinner on the eve of the new year as it is traditionally celebrated. However, we chose to have a healthy vegetarian meal.
While Daddy made us dinner, Sienna drew at the dining room table and listened to some traditional Chinese music that we found on the internet.
Mama snuggled Forest and sat next to Sienna while she made pictures. Forest ate bananas and then went to his playpen, so we could eat our dinner together.
Daddy, the chef cooking us our dinner.
Our appetizer: spring rolls and peanut sauce (a lot healthier than egg rolls).
Our dinner: vegetarian chow mein and rice.
And a must! Mama and Daddy love our red rooster sauce.

And of course, no meal is complete without a dessert. Sienna and Mama made fortune cookies with our own handwritten fortunes inside. This was our first time making them, but they are very simple to make and we can't wait to do it again! We used this recipe.
Tomorrow, I plan to take you on a little tour of our dining room.
