At Home

Lately, we've been spending lots of time at home. These are photos from our last few weeks. David's been working on finishing up indoor projects, so we can move onto the outdoor ones. We found a lovely light fixture at a little shop downtown for over the farm table. It matched the other kitchen light fixtures perfectly. The little ones/guest bathroom is also almost finished. He's put in a new tub, shower, vanity, light fixture, slate tile and just finished the wainscoting.

Last week, we saw President Obama fly over our house on his way to Oso to see the aftermath of the terrible mudslide that happened the week we moved into our home. The photo of the airplane is from our backyard.

The next two photos are from Easter Sunday. Sienna has been practicing her Cat's Cradle and she is getting very good at it. She also finished her first sewing project, which was a pillow for her doll, Lucy. I was working on a tooth fairy pillow for her, so she wanted her own little sewing project to work on alongside me. Both of her two bottom teeth are quite loose and she has her two adult teeth coming in behind them. She goes to the dentist next week, so we are hoping they will fall out on their own before then!

Lastly, Sunshine is growing quickly! We are working on teaching her to walk on a leash in our backyard. It's quite comical to watch her, but she is getting better each day.

The Easter Hare

(Image from Wikipedia)

The wee ones woke up quite early this morning to find that the Easter Hare had come to the little white house.

Sienna was happy to find a root viewer, some gardening tools, a new book to read and a chocolate bunny.

Forest found a dinosaur puzzle, a ball, some farm stickers and a chocolate bunny in his basket.

The Easter Hare also hid eggs for the wee ones to find in our living room, since there was very heavy rain the night before. We are still looking forward to an Easter brunch with Nana today.

We hope that all of our friends and family have a lovely day!

Waiting

All week we've been waiting for two very special packages to come. The first package to arrive today was our braided rugs we ordered from LL Bean. We ordered one bigger rug for the main living area and a smaller one for the play area. The second package to arrive was caterpillars we ordered from Carolina. We will be observing the life cycle as part of our homeschool happenings.

(Please excuse the missing baseboards from the photos. That is one of our renovation projects and I still need to paint them, so David can put them up.)

Puppy Love

Our little family decided to add to the already chaotic moments in moving and house renovating by adopting a puppy. We knew we wanted a puppy for the little ones to grow up with and after emailing on a few, we found one that was local.

Sienna named her Sunshine. Her Mama was a Golden Retriever/Lab Mix and her Daddy was an Australian Shepherd. She was born on a 5 acre farm just east of us and she is 8 weeks old.

We love our Sunshine puppy and look forward to giving her a forever home with our little family.
