Chai Guy

Early Sunday morning, our little family drove Chai Tea Latte Sneakers to NOAH "to be fixed."

At the spay/neuter clinic, the policy is to drop of your kitty in the morning and pick him/her up in the afternoon. This made Sienna very sad! As we left the doors of the clinic, Sienna started to cry and say, "I don't want to leave Chai Tea at the doctor's office." She really loves her guy.

She was happy when Grandpa Paul and Daddy brought him home later in the afternoon. The verdict ... Chai Tea is definitely a little boy. He's probably going to be a very big boy, too. At only 6 months of age, he is almost 8 lbs.

Sienna was still sleepy!

Just a little bit afraid...

Three days later ... Chai Guy is doing great. He's back to his wild kitty self and wants to go with Mommy and Sienna whenever we leave the house!

Celebrating Autumn

The past few days we've been celebrating the arrival of Autumn around the little house.

Today, we went to downtown Mount Vernon for a little Fall Festival. We took lots of photos of the festivities, shop displays, and Sienna. Sienna had a good time walking around with Mama, Daddy, Grandpa Paul, and Grandma Diane.

Grandma Diane bought Sienna a chocolate chip cookie at one of the stands.

Mama liked sampling chocolate from this stand.
All of the chocolate is made locally in Mount Vernon!

A pony ride for the kids.

Sienna liked this huge pumpkin jumpy house.

Do you see the egg?

Sienna liked the chickens.
We will have our own happy chickens and eggs ... one day.

Mama really loved this window display at Gretchen's.

When we went home, Mama and Daddy decided it was a perfect windy day for flying a kite. Sienna loved flying her Owl kite all by herself! She is such a big girl.

Moving On

This morning our little family received some happy news ...

Flowers Daddy picked for Mama from our garden.

... we will be moving into a little townhouse sometime around the middle of October. Although this means leaving behind the little house and moving forward, we will take with us many cozy memories from this small space. There are a number of reasons that we decided to move on, but the most important reasons are a larger space for our little family and money.

Many of our readers know that we've struggled a bit financially since last Winter and we truly thank our families for all of the support that they've given us. With this move, we hope to get back on track, so that we can keep our future dreams of one day owning our little house and not spiraling into further debt.

We are looking forward to sharing this new space with you in October.

Instead of calling this home "the little house" in the big woods our new home will be called "the little townhouse" on the prairie, named after our neighborhood Kent's Prairie. An upcoming blog will share a little historical information Mama gathered about Kent's Prairie.

And lastly, Sienna would like to share a few pictures of the sunflower that Daddy picked for her from our garden. She is so proud to have her own sunflower in her own vase, just like Mama.

Far Away Family & The Other Bob

Sienna's weekend was filled with new experiences and meeting more of Mama's family. On Saturday, we traveled down to Bumbershoot at the Seattle Center for Sienna's first ever concert and to visit with Nana, Great Aunt Carol (Nana's sister) and Cousin Matt.

On the way down we listened to lots of Bob Dylan and The Traveling Wilbury's to prepare Sienna for her first concert. She knows Bob Marley, but this was her first time really listening to Bob Dylan. He is one of Mama's favorite Folk singers. Some of my favorite songs by Bob Dylan are Just Like A Woman, Quinn the Eskimo, I'll Be Your Baby Tonight and It Ain't Me, Babe. We were hoping he would sing some of them!

We arrived at the Seattle Center in the late afternoon, since Bob Dylan didn't go on stage until 9:00pm. It was a very late night for Sienna! The evening was filled with eating burritos and ice cream, dancing to good music, and having fun visiting with family.

On Sunday, Sienna and Mama drove down to Edmonds to spend time with Great Aunt Carol, Matt, Mike and Mike's wife, Laura before they drove back to Utah. Sienna loved playing with the Thomas trains at Nana's and her two playmates Mike and Matt.

We are looking forward to the Mulhall Family Reunion next summer, where Sienna will get to meet even more family from far away places.
