Summer Days

We've been enjoying warmer summer days around the little house with gardening, a trip to the Woodland Park Zoo, an early morning at The Mercantile, and lots of deer watching.

Here's a little glimpse of what we've been up to...

A Fairy Tale Day

On Saturday, we celebrated Sienna's 2nd birthday fairy tale style.
Mama made her a fairy skirt to wear for her special day and Nana bought fairy wings.

Here's a little photo journal of her very special day ::

Sienna watching Auntie Jenn blow bubbles outside with one of the many bubble makers Jenn bought for Sienna.

The little fairy up close!

A fairy working in the kitchen.

One of Sienna's favorite gifts from Great Aunt Sharon and Great Uncle Rick, a sparkly flashlight ball.

The cupcakes Mama made for Sienna's special day.

Sienna loving her birthday cupcake.

The grand finale, our first bonfire at the little house. Yes, it is still daylight, because the sun sets so late in Washington.

A view of the little house from our cozy spot.

Daddy roasting a marshmallow for some s'mores.

Mama and Sienna enjoying the warm bonfire.

Two visitors decided to join our celebration. Mama was able to snap this photo of one of our visiting friends.

Sienna is 2!

Hello, all.
This past week was a whirlwind of preparations and celebrations. Unfortunately, our computer also ran amuck or this post would have appeared earlier.
On June 10th, Sienna turned 2! We spent the day celebrating Sienna and enjoying pizza and cookies with our family.

Here are a few snapshots of her birthday morning ::

Mama made this little reusable birthday banner for Sienna.

Sienna's gifts all lined up in a row on her easel, which was also an early birthday gift from Mama and Daddy.

The birthday girl getting her rock crayons ready to make a picture.

Pushing dolly around in her new stroller from Nana.

Sienna's German dolly waiting to be pushed!

The dough for 3 pizzas waiting to rise.

Now that the computer is back in working order ... many thanks to Grandma and Grandpa, we will be posting the pictures and blog about Sienna's birthday party tomorrow.

Oh and if you are interested in Sienna's new stats from her 2 year well child exam ...
weight ... 26 lbs (47th percentile)
height ... 32.75 (25th percentile)

... and perfectly healthy!

Now, we think she may be short and average like her Mama.

Baby Animals Everywhere...

Many baby animals are appearing all around the little house lately.

Chai Tea Sneakers is growing and getting bigger every day. She makes a very cute chattering sound when she is playing, which has David convinced that she is really part bobcat. We will have to make a video of it soon. We also have a new caterpillar friend that showed up on our porch one day to visit. The caterpillar is currently living in a coffee can on our back porch, so we can watch her "go into a butterfly" as Sienna would say.

And this morning ... guess what we saw in our drive!

A beautiful, very protective doe and her two little fawns. Note, the white kitty in the photos, who was chased away by the doe only a moment later. Sienna and I watched and took photos from a safe distance in the little house. We didn't want to scare them away.

We think one of the little fawns may have been injured while jumping over the fence to be with his Mama. One of his legs was stuck in the fence and when he finally made it over, his Mama kept licking his leg. We watched them make their way down to the creek, but we will watch for them to make sure the fawn is okay.

Lastly, we have our (almost 2 year old) "baby animal" going to sleep in her pet bed. Actually, Grandma and Grandpa bought the pet bed for Merlin and Chai Tea Sneakers, but Sienna likes it the most.

We will be posting many more photos in the next few days of Sienna and her adventures. Be sure to check back soon...
