Dress Up in the Morning

One of Sienna's favorite things to do lately is play dress-up. She loves wearing girly headbands and all different shoes (including Mommy's). This morning, she decided she wanted to wear her pink tutu that Nana bought her for Christmas, a pink headband and her see kai run Mary Jane shoes. Of course, she was still in her rainy ducky pj's, too.

She decided to hide behind a chair when she saw Mama take the camera out.

Up.

Down.

Primping her hair.

Playing with her elephant in the window.

We hope to expand her dress up wardrobe soon with some handmade ideas!

Spring Cleaning: Bookshelves

For the past few days, Sienna and I have been working on some mini Spring cleaning projects. This morning's work was to dust and organize Sienna's new bookshelf. A year ago, we bought this cute little low bookshelf to put Sienna's books on in our living room and months later the project was still waiting to be completed ... until today.

Mommy started by clearing out all of her books and finding a new home for them. We also folded up and put away Sienna's pack and play, which she seldom used before and never uses now. The living room feels so much roomier now!

The top shelf of the bookcase holds all of Mama's books from her childhood and the bottom shelf contains all of Sienna's books.

Mama put some of our Spring books on display.

The little basket contains all of Sienna's board books.

We love this book!
Sienna added a kitty from her animal puzzle to the shelf.

Happy Spring cleaning!

Happy Spring!

It is really beginning to feel like Spring around here! The past few days, the weather has been beautiful. We are enjoying spending time outdoors watching Daddy garden and work on some other little projects. Since these pictures were taken our garden is really looking like a garden. But, I thought I'd share the progress of the garden and show all of Daddy's hard work.

Sienna being a cutie pie!

Daddy added some wood chippings around the roses.

Our garden in the backyard.

Daddy started all of our veggies in a greenhouse and is now transplanting them into our garden.

Her goofy smile!

A special Sienna project Daddy is working on for Mama.

I will be sharing more about this special project soon...

A Visit from the Easter Bunny

Yesterday, the Easter Bunny visited Sienna while she was taking her afternoon nap. We think he may have been lost and that's why he missed our house (since we live off the beaten path) or maybe he decided not to stop since Sienna wasn't home from her trip yet.

Nana crocheted this Easter basket years ago and now it's one of Sienna's baskets.
Look at her new Crayon Rocks we found at a very cute toy shop in Grass Valley!

Here are the new books we found at the little bookshop in Petaluma.

The Easter Bunny also hid eggs all around the little house for Sienna to find. She loved it!

She found the perfect spot to put her "found" eggs.

Merlin wondered what all the excitement was about.

Next, we looked in Sienna's Easter baskets to see what the Easter Bunny brought for her.

Happy (late) Easter from our little family to yours!

Bookshops

One of the things I love about walking downtown is finding a cozy, indie bookshop.

Sienna and I spent last week with Nana driving down to California and making many stops along the way. Some of our destinations included: Eugene, Petaluma, Sebastopol, Fair Oaks, Auburn, Grass Valley, Jackson and Sutter Creek.

In Petaluma, we found the coziest, little bookshop perfect for little people! It is called Copperfield's Books, just in case you happen to be in the neighborhood. In the children's section there were murals, giant butterflies and tiny ottomans.

We were even able to find two books we were going to order online, Story of the Root Children and Around the Year to put into Sienna's Easter basket. It was the first time we had ever seen books by these authors in a bookshop!

We look forward to visiting Petaluma again and Mama added it to her list of places, she would like to live one day.
