Peace, Love & Elmo

I thought I'd share that Sienna is now 20 months old, as of yesterday.
Here she is drinking her "coffee" (water) out of her teacup and modeling her new Elmo shirt from Nana. Look how long her hair is getting!

And ... here is my first attempt at making sandwich bread for Daddy's lunch. With a few more tries, I think that I can 'perfect' the recipe a bit and change it to be whole wheat bread. I tried just white flour this time to get the hang of making this type of bread. After dinner, we ate some with butter & raspberry preserves. Very yummy! What I like about making your own food is knowing what exactly is put into it.
If only, we could grow and raise most of our own food, too.
Someday ...

Sickies

We are finally recovering from another round of the sickies.
The past few days Sienna and I worked on cleaning house ... mopping, vacuuming, washing linens, disinfecting and finally finishing thank~you cards from Christmas.

Today we are spending the day indoors washing our clothes and reading books.
Mama is working on reading cookbooks, meal planning and researching vegetarian diets for toddlers, which has virtually been Sienna's diet since she was born with a few tries of Earth's Best turkey dinner that she hated. She does love cheese though, so I know a vegan diet won't be in store for her (just like her Mama). I am reading The Vegetarian Way and How to Cook Everything Vegetarian, which are both excellent resources. Sienna is enjoying her seasons books Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer and watering the house with her tippy cup.

These pictures were taken sometime last week when Sienna was recovering from a cold and passing it onto Mama and Dada. We are all starting to feel better now. Her eyes look almost green in the pictures probably from the lack of good lighting in the house. Rest assure they are still bright blue like her Daddy. The last picture is a silly one of Merlin. Maybe cooling off in the sink? He stayed like that for at least 20 minutes or so.
